Success Story
FlexPay MSP onboarding: observability, alerting and optimization on EKS+RDS for a regulated fintech
FlexPay is a Chilean fintech running a regulated production platform on AWS, with Kubernetes (EKS) and a managed database (RDS). Craftech onboarded it as a managed-services (MSP) client in March 2026, taking over the operation and optimization of its infrastructure.
Challenge
FlexPay needed an operations team to take over its EKS- and RDS-based production platform, give it observability and actionable alerting, and apply optimizations without disrupting a regulated payments environment. As a fintech, any change to production requires controlled maintenance windows and traceability.
Solution
From service start, Craftech configured access to the AWS accounts and the Kubernetes cluster, defined work priorities with the client, and implemented an alerting scheme across the stack: RDS metrics (CPU, load, memory, storage) and EKS metrics (front, job and engine services; CPU and memory), split by severity (critical and warning) and routed to Slack and Google Chat with a runbook link. In parallel it validated database backups, simulated copies to verify recoverability, and implemented job scaling in the development environment. As a cost-and-performance optimization, it migrated the database storage from gp2 to gp3 in development and production, the latter in a coordinated maintenance window.
Results
In its first quarter as an MSP client, FlexPay gained observability and severity-based actionable alerting across its EKS+RDS stack, backups verified through recovery simulation, job scaling enabled in development, and database storage optimized to gp3. The operation is instrumented to sustain a regulated production environment with traceable changes and controlled windows.
