Eron (also known as Directa24) is a Uruguayan company specialized in comprehensive services for financial and technology industries, with a strong focus on fintech. Craftech built the MVP of an Internal Developer Portal (IDP) for Eron, aimed at visibility, standardization and governance of its platform.
Challenge
The main challenge was the lack of visibility, tracking and centralization of information. Eron needed visibility into the level of standardization across resources, best practices, and the relationships between the different elements that make up the organization's infrastructure. The decision was to solve this through an Internal Developer Portal (IDP).
Solution
The solution was built on a unified view of the client's ecosystem. First, the team defined which stack tools would be included in the portal and created a data model to organize resource information. Then exporters were configured to collect key data, enabling ingestion of information about resources and tools. Dashboards and automations were implemented to surface DORA metrics and standards compliance through scorecards. Finally, the infrastructure and development teams were trained to ensure adoption and efficient use of the platform.
Results
The solution had a direct impact on the client's platform. Standardization of resource and service configurations began, improving management and scalability. Better observability was achieved through the catalog and scorecards for a clear view of services, visibility of DORA metrics so teams can monitor development performance, and scorecards to assess standards compliance, strengthening governance and security. Eron ended up with full visibility of its platform and a solid foundation for continuous optimization.
