Betterfly is a Chilean corporate health and wellbeing platform that combines insurance, benefits, healthy habits and social impact in a single app. Founded in 2018, it reached unicorn status in 2022 and operates across several Latin American markets.
Challenge
Betterfly needed a generative-AI conversational assistant embedded in its app, able to resolve user questions about benefits, insurance and the mechanics of their wellbeing journey, available 24/7 and with handoff to human support when needed — to relieve the support team and improve the user experience.
Solution
Craftech designed and built 'Buddy AI', a generative-AI conversational assistant with multiple personalities that answers with accurate information drawn from Betterfly's documentation (RAG), integrates with the ticketing system to hand off to human support, and was rolled out progressively to production on a scalable serverless architecture on AWS, with Amazon Bedrock as the model foundation.
Results
Betterfly got a working GenAI assistant in production in ~8 weeks, with 24/7 answers grounded in its own documentation and automatic handoff to human support. The progressive rollout and serverless foundation allowed it to scale safely, with conversation monitoring and traceability.
