Success Story
Widergy modernizes its entire platform on AWS and Azure —from Elastic Beanstalk to Kubernetes— in 6 months
Widergy is an Argentine technology company founded in 2017, specialized in SaaS platforms for utilities: it helps electricity, gas and water distributors improve customer engagement, manage consumption and automate operations. It operates in 8 Latin American markets. Craftech modernized the cloud infrastructure underpinning its entire platform.

AWS environments (DEV/STG/QA/PRD) with end-to-end CI/CD

applications in production across both clouds
Challenge
Widergy ran its platform on Elastic Beanstalk with EC2 instances on AWS: an architecture hard to scale, replicate and maintain. It had no Infrastructure as Code, which prevented deployment automation and blocked a self-hosted version for enterprise customers that require operating in their own Azure cloud. As the company grew into new markets, the lack of standardization and operational visibility became a risk.
Solution
Craftech designed and built Widergy's cloud infrastructure from scratch across two clouds —AWS and Azure— using Kubernetes. On AWS it stood up EKS clusters across four environments (DEV/STG/QA/PRD) with database backends (RDS/PostgreSQL, Redis) and Site-to-Site VPN (IPSec) connectivity between AWS and Azure; on Azure it built AKS, VNet, VPN Gateway, PostgreSQL PaaS, Front Door, Nginx with WAF, Key Vault and DNS. Everything as code with Terraform/Terragrunt. The deployment cycle was automated with CircleCI (image build & push) and ArgoCD (GitOps on both clusters), with Atlantis for Terraform plans. The three applications (Utility Go, Customer Hub, Connector) were deployed, observability set up with Prometheus, Fluentbit, Kibana, Grafana and Kubecost, and the Widergy team was trained.
Results
Widergy ended up with complete production infrastructure on AWS (EKS) and Azure (AKS), delivered and operational in December 2025: four AWS environments with end-to-end automated CI/CD, 100% IaC (versioned, documented and replicable), all three applications running in production across both clouds, and full observability with Prometheus + Grafana + Kubecost. A self-hosted version on Azure for enterprise customers was enabled for the first time —with the first real deployment for a Widergy customer— and the technical team was trained to operate and evolve the platform autonomously.
