RedMagister's regulated platform on AWS: ready for BCRA approval in record time and still evolving two years later
RedMagister is Argentina's B2B digital wallet: it gives companies a 100% digital payment account to manage their finances, with 3-hour factoring, payments to suppliers and staff, and access to financing. It operates under BCRA supervision and is a COELSA member. Craftech designed and deployed its regulated cloud infrastructure on AWS from scratch and, two years on, remains its platform team.

Challenge
RedMagister needed to build its financial-services platform from scratch on AWS against an immovable regulatory deadline: August 23, 2024, the date of its approval by the BCRA. The platform required critical VPN connectivity to Banco BIND, had to support 28 .NET 8 microservices with high availability across DEV and PROD environments, and had to meet the security standards of a regulated financial entity — all within a few weeks.
Solution
Craftech designed and implemented the full AWS infrastructure in record time: EKS clusters with 28 microservices, Aurora PostgreSQL, Redis on ElastiCache and Amazon MQ for RabbitMQ, with a Site-to-Site VPN and Network Load Balancer to Banco BIND (using the static IP the bank requires). Once the regulatory deadline was met, it expanded the platform with full-stack observability (Amazon Managed Grafana, Prometheus, Thanos, Loki, Promtail, Tempo and AWS Distro for OpenTelemetry for distributed tracing), VPC Flow Logs, AWS WAF and CloudWatch alarms for the VPN tunnel. In 2025–2026 it ran continuous EKS upgrades (1.31 → 1.35), migrated to EKS Auto Mode, integrated with COELSA to broaden the ecosystem's payment capabilities, and optimized resources with Goldilocks/VPA.
Results
The platform went live on AWS on August 23, 2024, meeting BCRA approval with no regulatory delays. The 28 microservices run stably across DEV and PROD with high availability, with full observability of metrics, logs and distributed traces centralized in Grafana and endpoints protected by AWS WAF. The cluster stays on a supported EKS version (currently 1.35) through continuous upgrades, and the banking ecosystem was extended with the COELSA integration. The relationship has been active for more than two years, with sustained scope expansion.
