People Cloud's HR Tech platform on Amazon EKS: continuous Kubernetes upgrades and Time Log migrated to containers

Challenge

People Cloud needed to keep its HR Tech platform running stably and up to date on AWS: a Kubernetes cluster that wouldn't fall behind on supported versions, services evolving toward containers, and reliable operation of its Time Log service —all without pulling the product team into infrastructure work.

Solution

Craftech operated the platform on Amazon EKS and managed cluster continuity by keeping it on supported Kubernetes versions through a long sequence of upgrades (from v1.22 to v1.33). In parallel it migrated the Time Log service from Amazon EC2 to EKS, moving it to a container-based runtime, and handled the operational and service-exposure tasks the day-to-day required. The stack included PHP, PostgreSQL, Redis, and NLB load balancing.

Results

People Cloud's platform stayed on Amazon EKS with the Kubernetes cluster always on supported versions thanks to a long chain of managed upgrades, and the Time Log service now runs on containers in EKS after its migration from EC2. The result is a modernized, continuously operated infrastructure ready to sustain the HR Tech platform.
