OlaClick strengthens observability and security on AWS over ECS Fargate
OlaClick is a Food Tech SaaS platform for restaurants, operating across the region. Its infrastructure runs on AWS on a serverless container architecture. Craftech worked on its platform across security (WAF) and observability/logging fronts, within two AWS-funded initiatives.
Challenge
OlaClick ran an active AWS platform on ECS + Fargate and needed, on one hand, to assess and strengthen its perimeter security posture (WAF) and, on the other, to improve the observability and log management of a serverless infrastructure with several services, to gain operational visibility and incident-response capability.
Solution
Craftech executed two initiatives on OlaClick's AWS platform. The first was a WAF assessment to evaluate and improve perimeter security. The second focused on observability and logging, incorporating tools such as X-Ray for tracing, Grafana for visualization, synthetic tests and an alerting/on-call scheme with OpsGenie, over the serverless architecture based on ECS + Fargate (with Fargate Spot), API Gateway and WebSockets.
Results
OlaClick ended up with a security posture assessed via the WAF assessment and with strengthened observability and logging over its serverless platform: tracing with X-Ray, Grafana dashboards, synthetic tests and an alerting/on-call scheme with OpsGenie implemented by Craftech, improving the operational visibility of the AWS infrastructure.
