Nave launches its Internal Developer Portal in 8 weeks, with automatic ingestion and self-service

Challenge

As a spin-off of Banco Galicia and Tarjeta Naranja, Nave was born with a heterogeneous tech stack from merging several companies and without its own developer portal. The platform team's strategic goal was to centralize the management of repositories, cloud resources and infrastructure into a single entry point, and to enable self-service to reduce operational friction between teams. They knew from the start they wanted an IDP; the challenge was implementing it fast, with real integrations, and leaving the team able to operate it autonomously.

Solution

Craftech implemented Nave's Internal Developer Portal MVP on Port.io in 8 weeks. The result was a centralized portal where teams access the service catalog, automatically see their GitLab and AWS resources, and can create repositories without depending on other teams. Port's official exporters (Ocean-based) were deployed via IaC, with automatic ingestion of repositories and metadata, and replicable multi-account AWS integration. SSO was integrated with Microsoft Entra ID, a self-service repository-scaffolding action was implemented from standardized templates, plus adoption mechanisms (surveys and feature requests). All infrastructure was delivered as code with runbooks and training.

Results

Nave ended up with an IDP portal live in production in 8 weeks, on an environment with a heterogeneous stack and multiple cloud accounts. Automatic resource ingestion from GitLab and AWS replaced previous manual processes, SSO with Entra ID centralized access management, and the self-service repository-creation action demonstrated reduced manual steps in development flows. The delivered IaC lets the team operate, scale and replicate integrations autonomously, with the platform team trained through technical sessions and runbooks. Adoption metrics were not consolidated at MVP close: the project included instrumentation to measure them in the following phase.
