Two years modernizing the cloud infrastructure of a 500,000+ loan fintech
Moni is an Argentine fintech founded in 2013, specialized in instant personal loans and a digital wallet (loans, QR payments, a Mastercard card and bill payments). It targets the financial inclusion of underbanked users, operates in Argentina with expansion to Colombia, and has processed over 500,000 loans.
Challenge
Moni's platform ran on EKS clusters with End-of-Life versions and an outdated observability and CI/CD stack. Infrastructure was mostly manual, with no code behind it: every change carried operational risk and accumulated tech debt slowed the team's velocity to ship new features.
Solution
Craftech modernized Moni's cloud platform to be self-managed, more secure and ready to scale. We migrated the container clusters to an automatically managed mode (EKS Auto Mode), removing repetitive operational tasks. We fully renewed monitoring for historical and real-time visibility, implemented automated deployment pipelines, and left all infrastructure as code — making the environment reproducible, auditable and easy for Moni's internal team to maintain.
Results
Moni ended with a platform of lower operational load thanks to EKS Auto Mode, an updated observability stack (Thanos for long-term metrics + Grafana Alloy), a renewed CI/CD (ArgoCD v3.0 and new pipelines) with faster, safer deploys, and 100% infrastructure as code (centralized Terraform, GitOps with Atlantis). The project closed formally with complete documentation in December 2025.
