Kubernetes assessment and proof of concept on AWS for MailAmericas
MailAmericas is a postal and e-commerce logistics company. Craftech supported it on a project funded through AWS Partner Funding, reviewing its platform and building a proof of concept for a Kubernetes deployment on AWS, with team enablement.
Challenge
MailAmericas needed to evaluate modernizing its platform toward a container architecture on AWS: review its current infrastructure, validate a Kubernetes deployment with demand-based autoscaling, and train its team, before committing to a full implementation.
Solution
Craftech reviewed networking, monitoring, services, database, persistent data, CI/CD, billing, security, and team, and built a proof of concept on Amazon EKS: application deployment with Helm, a PostgreSQL database, Valkey caching, S3 storage, certificates with ACM, and event-driven autoscaling with KEDA. The work closed with enablement sessions for the client's team and a closeout document.
Results
MailAmericas obtained a working proof of concept of its platform on Kubernetes in AWS — with event-driven autoscaling and managed database, cache, and storage — and a diagnosis of its infrastructure, plus training to operate the new stack. The scope was assessment and POC; full production implementation remained the next step, not executed within this engagement.
