Success Story
Koban migrates from Oracle Cloud to AWS and moves 6 projects to Kubernetes with auto-scaling in 3 months
Koban is a Bolivian fintech democratizing access to financial services for segments excluded from traditional banking. It operates primarily in Bolivia with payments, banking and digital financial services. Craftech supported its migration from Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) to AWS to modernize its infrastructure and take advantage of available AWS credits.

projects migrated from Oracle Cloud to AWS (4 PRD + 2 DEV)
3 accounts
AWS (QA/PRD/SHD) with 100% Terraform IaC
Challenge
Koban ran all its infrastructure on Oracle Cloud manually: no automation, no CI/CD pipelines and no real-time observability. Deploys were done by updating image tags directly in the cluster, creating operational risk and limiting the team's scalability. It also had unused AWS credits and needed a modern architecture to migrate its applications with minimal risk.
Solution
Craftech analyzed the existing Oracle Cloud infrastructure and designed an equivalent architecture on AWS, deploying complete QA and production environments in three months, all as code with Terraform across three accounts (QA, PRD and SHD). It included EKS clusters with Automode (automatic vertical scaling without intervention) with RabbitMQ inside the cluster, Amazon ElastiCache (Redis) and Amazon RDS (MySQL) per environment, private VPCs with standardized networking, and a corporate VPN (Pritunl on EC2) for secure access. The process was end-to-end: OCI survey, AWS equivalence analysis, design, deployment, active support during the migration of the 6 projects, and Koban team training.
Results
Koban successfully migrated 6 projects (4 in production and 2 in development) from Oracle Cloud to AWS, with 100% Infrastructure as Code in Terraform: reproducible, versioned and free of manual management. EKS with Automode is active in production with automatic vertical scaling on demand, and Koban took advantage of its available AWS credits. The client's team moved from manual operations to a modern, scalable and reproducible infrastructure, and was able to migrate its applications autonomously.
