HDI Seguros —which trades commercially as Barbuss— is an Argentine insurer. Craftech is executing the migration of its legacy Java applications to containers on Amazon ECS, with dockerization, CI/CD pipelines, and an event-driven architecture on AWS.
Challenge
HDI Seguros needed to modernize a set of legacy Java applications and move them to a managed container architecture on AWS, with automated deployments and reliable scheduled processes. The goal: leave behind a rigid, inherited operation in favor of a reproducible, observable platform aligned with AWS managed services.
Solution
Craftech is migrating the legacy Java applications to Amazon ECS: dockerizing the services, building CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments, and orchestrating scheduled jobs (ECS Scheduled Tasks) with Amazon EventBridge for batch processes. The stack leans on AWS managed services —Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon API Gateway, Amazon Cognito— with infrastructure as code in Terraform and built-in observability.
Results
HDI Seguros's Java applications are moving toward a container runtime on Amazon ECS, with dockerization, automated CI/CD deployments, and scheduled processes orchestrated by EventBridge. The architecture relies on managed services (DynamoDB, API Gateway, Cognito) and is managed as code with Terraform, leaving a more reproducible and observable platform than the inherited operation.
