AWS Disaster Recovery assessment for GigaRed: a technical review of an on-premise telco infrastructure
GigaRed is an Argentine telecommunications and connectivity provider. Craftech began the relationship in March 2026 with a technical Disaster Recovery assessment on AWS, at an early, tightly scoped stage (no implementation included in this contract).
Challenge
GigaRed runs critical connectivity and entertainment services on on-premise infrastructure, with mostly manual deployments and no clear disaster-recovery strategy. Before proposing any improvement, an accurate diagnosis of the current operation was needed to validate the technical feasibility of a DR scheme.
Solution
Craftech ran a structured assessment of the current infrastructure: services inventory, networking scheme, databases, persistent data, on-premise CI/CD flow, security and compliance, plus a cost analysis of the on-prem infrastructure. On that basis it evaluated Disaster Recovery alternatives (including approaches based on AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery and AWS Backup) to define the implementation path for a later phase.
Results
GigaRed has an As-Is diagnosis of its architecture (services, network, data, CI/CD, security and costs) and a DR-alternatives analysis that lays the technical foundation for an implementation proposal. The engagement stands as a clear phase-2 opportunity (DR implementation on AWS) and, later, a managed-support arrangement.
