From assessment to deployment for Gatekeeper: discovery, FinOps and bringing GatekeeperX to production on AWS
Gatekeeper is a technology company Craftech has supported since March 2026 on AWS, in an AWS-funded engagement. The work started as a comprehensive infrastructure assessment and evolved into deploying its GatekeeperX product to production.
Challenge
Gatekeeper first needed a detailed understanding of its AWS infrastructure — services, network, databases, persistent data and costs — to identify improvements, and on that basis bring its GatekeeperX product to a reliable, multitenant production deployment with CI/CD and cost observability.
Solution
Craftech ran a comprehensive assessment (services, networking scheme, databases, persistent data) and a billing analysis with cost-optimization recommendations (FinOps). With the diagnosis done, it moved to execution: deploying the GatekeeperX product across PROD and Sandbox (multitenant) environments, integrating CD in ArgoCD, automating onboarding in GitHub Actions, and tagging resources for governance and cost.
Results
Gatekeeper moved from an As-Is diagnosis of its architecture and costs to having its GatekeeperX product deployed in production and sandbox, with continuous delivery via ArgoCD, automated onboarding and tagged resources for cost control. The engagement — active and AWS-funded through July 2026 — leaves a clear opportunity to transition to a managed-support (MSP) arrangement.
