ECS operation and Java monolith modernization for Galgo
Galgo is an ecommerce company in Chile. Craftech operated its infrastructure on AWS ECS and supported the modernization of its Java monolith across several contracts in 2025.
Challenge
Galgo needed to operate its ecommerce platform on AWS with container compute, managed search and database, and to advance the modernization of its Java monolith.
Solution
Craftech operated the infrastructure on Amazon ECS (Fargate and EC2) with CI/CD in GitHub Actions and GitLab, RDS and OpenSearch, and supported the Java monolith modernization, including the migration to Payara.
Results
Galgo ran its ecommerce platform on ECS, RDS and OpenSearch throughout 2025, with the monolith migration to Payara completed. Horizontal scaling of the main component remained as pending work at close.
