Akua: developer experience platform with Port and DORA metrics on AWS
Akua is a cloud-native payments fintech (registered in Delaware, with a Craftech squad in Argentina). Craftech ran a focused pilot to install platform and developer-experience practices on its AWS stack, with Port as the internal portal and integrated observability.
Challenge
Akua needed to organize and surface its developer experience on a container- and IaC-based AWS infrastructure, with actionable metrics for its teams and a technical-governance baseline that could scale beyond the pilot.
Solution
Craftech deployed Port as an Internal Developer Platform, configuring DORA metrics, scorecards and exporters integrated with GitLab, New Relic and Wiz to give traceability over delivery, quality and security. The work ran as a focused pilot co-funded through the AWS partner program, on an ECS stack with Pulumi infrastructure as code.
Results
The pilot left a developer-platform baseline in place on AWS: Port live with DORA metrics, scorecards and exporters connected to the client's tooling (GitLab, New Relic, Wiz). The engagement was time-boxed and did not turn into a follow-on MSP; the case is recorded qualitatively, with no publishable impact metrics.
